Wonder of Wonders
(By John McCarty)
Wonder of Wonders, it’s heaven’s mystery,
That Christ gave me His Righteousness when He set me free--
Free from the shackles of the burden of sin, free to live my life for Him.
Oh blessed salvation, how can it be, that Christ would save the likes of me?
Wonder of Wonders it’s heaven’s mystery,
For I deserved to hang on that tree, but oh, how God was merciful to me.
I was the one that should have died, but Christ took my place and paid my price.
Oh blessed salvation, how can it be, that God could love a wretch like me?
Wonder of Wonders, it’s heavens mystery,
That the Father sees no fault in me.
Christ is my righteousness; I am hidden in Him, safe from the Father’s hatred of sin.
Oh blessed salvation, how can it be that the Father would choose a sinner like me?
Cleansed by His blood and delivered from sin, a new creature in Christ and new within.
Oh blessed salvation, how can it be that I am in Christ and Christ is in me?
